Gjensidige is a leading Nordic insurance company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, with operations in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and the Baltics. We have provided insurance services for more than 200 years.

Our insurance segments

General insurance has always been our core business. In Norway, we also offer pension and savings products to support our general insurance business. Get to know our insurance segments and the markets we are operating in.

Our owners

Gjensidige is listed at Oslo Stock Exchange. We have approximately 38,000 shareholders. The 20 biggest owners represent about 85 per cent of the shares in the Company.

Gjensidigestiftelsen is our largest owner with an owner share at 62.2 per cent. Gjensidigestiftelsen has laid down in its statutes that its ownership interest in Gjensidige shall amount to at least 60 per cent, which shall contribute to predictability and stable ownership.

The role of Gjensidigestiftelsen

A mutual insurance company is owned by the customers. When Gjensidige was transformed to an public limited liability company in June 2010, the customers ownership was continued by Gjensidigestiftelsen. The general insurance customers in Gjensidige elects and is eligible to the general meeting and to the Board of Gjensidigestiftelsen.
